TxDOT Introduces New Way to Track Performance
The Texas Department of Transportation introduced an interactive Web-based TxDOT Tracker on March 26 that will increase transparency about the agency’s inner workings. The tracker allows users to view 27 different agency performance measures including construction and traffic fatalities, on-budget performance and TxDOT’s current status on meeting its established goals. Subject areas measured include reducing congestion, enhancing safety, expanding economic opportunity, preserving transportation assets and improving air quality.
“The public will now have direct access to seeing how the department is performing and working towards reaching targets for the goals outlined,” said Amadeo Saenz, TxDOT Executive Director. “Public input is welcomed and opportunity for it is provided, making this is an interactive tool.”
The TxDOT Tracker presents users the opportunity to connect with TxDOT personnel through the with their questions, comments and feedback. TxDOT plans to update the database regularly with important and useful information as new data becomes available.
