Interstate 35W/Loop 820 to be re-addressed in April/May

At the Texas Transportation Commission meeting on March 25, the Commission postponed action on a proposal submitted by a private developer to rebuild the Interstate 35 W and Loop 820 interchange in the Fort Worth area. The Commission decided that more time is needed to evaluate the proposal - which includes the interchange in the North Tarrant Express project - before voting on the proposal to spend $150 million in state bond funds. The proposal is scheduled to be addressed again in April or May. The North Tarrant Express project is an over $2 billion expansion of the Northeast Loop 820 and Airport Freeway. Construction will start this year with and should be completed by 2015.
