Texans Vote to Protect Private Property Rights

Proposition 11 passed overwhelmingly in a vote by Texas citizens on November 3. About 81 percent of Texas voters supported the proposition to limit eminent domain powers, according to "Texas Election Results" on cnjonline.com. The proposition prohibits governments from seizing private property to increase tax revenues or certain economic developments. It also limits the legislature's authority to grant the power of eminent domain to any entity.
