Transportation bills of interest:
  • SJR 9 by Carona: Proposing a constitutional amendment limiting the purposes for which revenue from taxes on motor fuels and lubricants may be used and authorizing the legislature to provide for automatic adjustments of the rates of motor fuels taxes.
  • SB 216 by Carona: Relating to the permissible uses of the state highway fund. (Enabling legislation for SJR 9)
  • SB 1383 by Carona: Relating to the creation and administration of the Texas Local Participation Transportation Program. The Program will be administered by the Texas Comptroller, is similar to the pass through financing program already in effect through the Texas Transportation Commission, allows for various means of funding for the program including, possibly, Proposition 12 proceeds.
  • SB 1669 by Nichols: Relating to the authority and powers of regional mobility authorities.
